Every fact about ChatGPT below comes from OpenAI's own documentation, read on November 3, 2026, and linked where it appears; check it, since ChatGPT changes often. The short version: ChatGPT is a general assistant that does whatever you steer it to do, across work and life. Foundable gives you Ted, an AI employee for one business, who builds its website, takes payments through your own Stripe account and keeps the marketing going without being asked.
What each one is
ChatGPT is OpenAI's assistant. Beyond answering, it can do longer work: ChatGPT Work "can use your files, plugins, and approved tools to retrieve information, create finished files, run workflows" (ChatGPT Work), scheduled tasks repeat work in the background (scheduled tasks), and Sites "lets you build, host, and share a website by describing it in ChatGPT or Codex", in public beta (Sites).
Foundable gives you Ted, your AI employee. You tell him the idea; he builds the website, takes payments through a Stripe account in your name, writes posts and emails, and, when you start Run, runs the business on his own in the background, doing the next most useful thing again and again while you see what he is doing and thinking.

How Foundable does the work
- Ted is the one you talk to, in the app or by text from your phone. He turns the idea into a short plan: the customer, the offer and the first thing worth testing.
- Build makes the website, shows you a live preview, keeps every version and publishes it.
- Run is Ted running the business: improving the site, finding customers, writing and sending the posts and emails, and writing up what he learns.
- Payments puts Buy buttons on your site that take payments through your own Stripe account.
Everything Ted does is recorded, so you can see what he did and why, and stop a run at any time.
When ChatGPT is the better choice
Choose ChatGPT if you want to do the work yourself with a strong assistant beside you: drafting, research, analysis, images, code or a quick site you steer change by change. One subscription covers your work and your life, not just one business, and its Business plan adds the admin controls a larger team needs.
When Foundable is the better choice
Choose Foundable if you want the business run rather than helped with: a website that takes payments into your own Stripe account, and an employee who keeps finding customers, posting and emailing in the background, asking first until you let him act on his own. You don't need to know what to ask for next; Ted works that out.

Can ChatGPT run my small business?
It can do a great deal of the work if you direct it, and on Pro a dot can keep work moving between your check-ins. What it does is up to the tasks, tools and rules you give it. Foundable is built for the job itself: Ted builds the website, takes payments and decides the next useful thing for the business.
Is Foundable built on ChatGPT?
Foundable is its own product. Foundable does not train AI on your content, and the AI companies behind Ted's replies and Build's websites do not train on it either, under their business agreements; the Security page explains the protections.
Can I use both?
Yes. ChatGPT can stay your assistant for writing and research while Ted runs the business.
